Invitation to Participate in an International Survey

Dear Colleagues,

Thank you for your interest in participating in this survey. There are no known risks to participating in this research study, and the information collected may not benefit you directly. However, the findings of this study may be helpful to others by improving patient care and outcomes following thoracic surgery and anaesthesia provided by nonthoracic anesthesiologists.

The information you provide will be used to describe current global and local practices, accessibility to a trained anaesthesiologist in thoracic anaesthesia in patients undergoing thoracic surgery, and obstacles and motivations for generalising specialised dedicated postgraduate training in thoracic anaesthesia among general anesthesiologists.

The research ethics committee of ACIBADEM University, Istanbul, Turkey (2024-2/94, February 15, 2024) approved the survey, which was endorsed by the European Association of Cardiothoracic Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (EACTAIC) on September 23, 2024.

The answers will be stored at ACIBADEM University, Istanbul, Turkey, for five years. The survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. Should the data be published, your identity will not be disclosed.

Responding to the survey questions, you agree to participate in this study, including using and sharing study data, which will be kept anonymous. You may choose not to participate, and should you decide not to answer any more questions, you may stop at any time.
